STUDENT FEEDBACK

Students who undertook my theory and practical frenulotomy training.
From NHS health visitors to support established and newly created tongue-tie clinics.

  • "Your training was perfect - the prior theory session prepared me well and gave me an excellent foundation for the practical training which followed. You encouraged me and gave me the confidence to get on with assessing and dividing tongue ties straight away once practical training commenced - you didn't let me hold back! I had no hesitation in asking you questions, your knowledge and experience was evident. The training schedule gave plenty of time for reflection and to ask questions, and I had a wide variety of scenarios to learn from.
I love my role as a tongue tie practitioner! Every baby is different, every mum's feeding experience and post division experience is different. I am proud of what I have achieved.
I feel it is important to have ongoing training and supervision, which I will arrange with my TT colleagues, and look forward to further training/updates with yourself as arranged!
Thank you once again for your fantastic training and guidance in setting up a new clinic, so far so good!"

  • "Lynn has been brilliant. She is everything one would want from a trainer - professional, kind, patient and encouraging, as well as having a good sense of humour! As a result, my journey to becoming a tongue tie practitioner has been smooth and well informed. Thank you Lynn!"

  • I have been qualified as a Health Visitor for 10 years and work within an HV team. I undertook the Frenulotomy Training as I wanted to challenge myself to learn something new; I miss clinical nursing, so this is a good way to combine health visiting with some clinical work. I also feel passionate about tongue tie's having had two babies who both required frenulotomies and can very much sympathise with the pain caused by breastfeeding tongue tied babies. The frenulotomy training was well organised and was methodical in the approach. The theoretical session provided the background knowledge to go into the practical training. The worksheet and competencies then assisted my continued learning as my knowledge increased through the practical sessions. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to have the support from Lynn during the practical sessions. I would recommend the training. Lynn is a great teacher, she has a huge amount of knowledge and experience. She is very calm and reassuring and will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, with support!

From a registered nurse who is adding feeding and oral assessment plus tongue-tie release into her private practice.

  • I couldn't have asked for a better training experience. Coming from an area of adult nursing to working with babies was certainly a daunting one, but you settled my nerves and offered so much support.
  • The theory training before was just right and coupled then with the 3 days of practical training was just right. Everything you covered in theory was applied in practice. Also the competency framework following training was an excellent recap on what we had covered.
  • I entered into the training feeling overwhelmed at times but at the end of the practical I felt so much more confident and settled.
  • I would certainly recommend you to anyone who wanted to follow this same pathway.
  • Thank you for all your support and prompt responses. You were great.
